Theatre Under the Gun III: Daydream Believer
(fall 2000)The extremely popular Theatre Under the Gun festival, co-produced by the Vancouver East Cultural Centre and Theatre Bagger, entered its third year last November. Twelve independent theatre companies were given less than three days to create an original 15-minute play. The Virtual Stage team members created Daydream Believer -- a memorable rollercoaster ride through a lonely housewife's imagination, as influenced by her husband's TV channel surfing.
Game Over
(summer
2000)
This short film, the first creation of The Virtual Stage, was written, shot and edited in less than two days during the Reel Fast 48-Hour Movie Making Competition. Based on an "inspiration package" our team received, Game Over tells the story of the investigation into a mysterious shooting outside Planet Lazer in which four boys were killed. A fifth boy, an eight-year old, is missing. What unfolds is a disturbing exlploration of today's children and the violent entertainment they consume.
